Fawn Somali Cats – Soft Colour, Quiet Presence | Foxholm Lucy Turns One
There is something about fawn Somali cats that is easy to overlook — and impossible to forget. Soft, warm, and understated, this colour does not demand attention. Instead, it reveals itself slowly — in movement, in light, in the quiet depth of the coat.

Fawn is a diluted version of sorrel, where rich red tones soften into a pale, warm beige with a subtle pink hue. In Somali cats, with their characteristic ticking inherited from the Abyssinian cat, this creates a smooth, almost glowing effect.
It is not a loud colour.
But it stays with you.
Foxholm Lucy – one year of quiet magic
Recently, Foxholm Lucy turned one year old.
She is one of those cats who never needed to prove herself loudly. From the beginning, she has simply been… easy to love.
Lucy has a soft fawn coat with a noticeable pink-toned warmth, especially visible in natural light. Her rich ruff frames her face beautifully, and her tail is full and expressive, giving her that balanced, elegant Somali silhouette.
But what truly makes Lucy special is her character.

She has never been part of any conflicts — not with other cats, not in new situations. Calm, stable, and quietly confident, she moves through life without creating tension around her.
She is deeply affectionate in a very gentle way. She licks hands, sometimes faces, and always seeks closeness — not insistently, but naturally.
And then there is something harder to explain.
Lucy seems to feel people.
If someone is tired, unwell, or simply not themselves, she often comes closer. She settles nearby, or directly on a lap, staying still longer than usual. There is a softness to her presence that changes the atmosphere in the room.
You notice it without really thinking about it.
Why fawn stays with you
Fawn Somali cats are not the most common. They require a certain combination of genetics, and not every breeding program works with this colour.

But maybe that fits them.
They are not meant to be everywhere.
They are the kind of cats you discover slowly — and then never quite forget.
